In 1864 George Barham, the son of a London dairyman, formed the Express Country Milk Supply Company at 28 Museum Street, near Kings Cross Station, in London. George was concerned about the quality of milk that he was selling, believing that London's cows were living in cramped and unhygienic conditions. He decided to transport fresh milk into London via the railway, which led to the name of the company -Express.In the early 1960s the most popular light commercial vehicle was the CA. The Bedford CA had a 90 inch wheelbase , quite small by todays standards , so they launched a 102inch version which was designated the CAL. Hence the CA became known as the CAS.
